Unfortunately I don't believe that the command-and-control era has gone. Recently I have written a post related to the theme.

Check it out:

By the way I am working as an internal communicator in Hungary in a Japanese owned company.
Dear Csaba Szucs:

I think that communication is about relationship and we are facing big challenges in a neasr future. So the way we used to work and do things are changing. Of course some organizations and their cultures are different from others. Some are more opened, some are more closed, some are trying to make things in a new way but the world is changing and old times of "command and control" will be gone soon. It´s a question of time - because the new generation that was almost born connected to the web (and the web have no hierarchy) will not work in authoritarian places. I believe on that - it´s anew way to do things.

Brand ambassadors?

Interesting and precious article from a blog called Insights and Ingenuity about employees as brand ambassadors.I do believe on that, and that´s why internal communications (brand focused) is so strategic and engaging. "They’re employed by your company and represent your brand from 8am-5pm. Call on them to be more than employee, to be a steward and ambassador of the brand. Charge them with helping you build a stronger environment, a better product, grow more share. Inspire them to help propel the company forward".
